Hola! I am from Naranjito, Puerto Rico, “La isla del encanto”. I consider myself a respectful, creative, quick learner and hands-on kind of person. I graduated Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor’s degree in General Theater and a minor in Film Production from the University of Puerto Rico, Main Campus. During my bachelor’s I participated in two student exchange programs with the University of Connecticut and the University of Palermo in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which were both very rich experiences.
Most of my practice is in Theater Production, especially with great interest in social and political theatre for marginalized and deprived communities.
The past few years I have been developing curiosity and thirst for filmmaking and I am currently working towards a Master in Fine Arts in Motion Pictures at the University of Miami. My aspirations with the program are, first to figure out what area of production I’m finest at and then to use the skills as best I can for the rest of my life fulfilling my commitment with constructing a better society.

A native of Havana, Cuba, Julio grew up in the Magic City and considers himself a native Miamian. He attended Miami Andrew Jackson Sr. High School and later Miami-Dade College and Florida International University, earning B.A.s in Liberal Studies and Psychology.
Possessed of an extraordinarily restless mind, Julio’s interests run the gamut of the spectrum. From literature to cosmology, from applied mathematics to creative writing, his mind refuses to be typecast.
Passionate about cinema since earliest childhood, he never imagined writing and making movies of his own until he took an introductory film course on a lark at University of Miami, while an employee at the Richter Library. .
Julio loves speculative fiction and tends to write offbeat, genre bending narratives. His hope, like authors such as Clark, Heinlein, and Asimov, Bradbury, is never to merely entertain, but to create solid, palpable worlds that challenge and incite.
